WHICH DEVICES ARE BEST FOR CAST AND AUDIENCE?
Laptop or Desktop Computers
Supported operating systems on iPads and Android tablets:
iPads: iOS 12 and above
Android: 9.0 and above
NOTE: To optimise the experience for all attendees we provide sound effects throughout most of our play readings. For this reason, we strongly suggest that our
cast members use a computer with a direct connect cable to your router, especially when you notice a weak connection. WiFi connections with computers and tablets are okay and will depend mostly on multiple conditions, age, available bandwidth etc., These work at its optimum when within 15 ft of your internet router, however if you notice a weak connection, it is possible that you can correct it with a reboot of your device, disconnect WiFi on your other devices and close all non-relevant tabs on your device.
Smartphones are fine if you are a member of the audience. Cell phones are known to be unpredictable and not reliable within the theater environment, especially when you are a cast or crew member. We have to consider that when you are part of a cast, we need you to ensure a reliable device.
